SKIP (Parent Participation Class)
6-35 months
Parents are taught methods of working with their young children to encourage self-confidence, water adjustment, basic swimming skills, and safety in and around the water. Swim diapers must be worn if child is not potty trained.
Pike (Beginner)
3-5 years
This class is designed for those participants with little or no swimming experience. Participants will work toward accomplishing kicking, floating, and independent swimming.
Eel (Intermediate)
3-5 years
This class is designed for those participants who can swim a short distance independently with their face in the water. Participants will work toward accomplishing coordination of the front crawl, breathing techniques, kicking, and deep water adjustment.
Ray/Starfish (Advanced)
3-5 years
This class is for those participants who are able to swim across the width of the pool with confidence and good stroke form. Participants will learn front crawl with rotary breathing, backstroke, treading water, and deep water swimming.
Polliwog (Beginner)
6-14 years
Participants in this class will learn water adjustment, floating, safety skills, and an introduction to the four major strokes.
Guppy (Advanced Beginner)
6-14 years
This class is for swimmers who are adjusted to the water and can swim a short distance on their own. Swimmers will learn rotary breathing, backstroke, underwater swimming, and deep water confidence.
Minnow (Intermediate)
6-14 years
This class is designed for swimmers who can already swim the width of the pool using front crawl with rotary breathing and backstroke. Swimmers will work toward accomplishing the breaststroke, elementary backstroke, endurance, and water safety skills.
Fish (Advanced)
Swimmers at this level are able to swim freestyle and backstroke (standard and elementary). They will learn breastroke, introduction to sidestroke and butterfly kick. They will also work on increasing endurance and safety skills.
Private Lessons
Private swim lessons are available year-round for all ability levels. The instructor will evaluate and determine student level.
