YMCA child care programs are based on our principles of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. We take great pride in sharing with you the goals specific to our licensed and non-licensed YMCA School Age Child Care Programs:

  • Helping children develop to their fullest potential
  • Delivering the program in a positive YMCA environment of safety, support and care

Locations

The East County Family YMCA operates licensed childcare sites in the following school districts: Lemon Grove and San Diego Unified. For additional site information click here.

Hours of Operation

Hours vary by site according to community and school needs. Generally, our programs run from 6:30am until school begins and resumes after school until 6:30pm including minimum days.

Child Care Programming

The East County Family YMCA is proud to provide programming consistent with the YMCA mission. Each site includes both character development and service learning projects throughout the year. Monthly newsletters and activity calendars keep parents up to date on site activities. Every site offers Family Nights throughout the year so that participants can get to know site staff and others in the program. Each site also serves afternoon snacks as part of the California Department of Education Nutrition Reimbursement program.

Extended School Day Program

The East County Family YMCA in cooperation with the respective school districts are proud to offer one non-licensed program:

San Diego Unified School District

    • Green Elementary

The program consists of academic enrichment and recreational activities. Families must complete a pre-enrollment application. Applications may be picked up at the child care accounting office.

Registration

Registration forms may be picked up at the child care accounting office. Registration is not complete until registration forms are brought into the Child Care Accounting Office located at the John A. Davis facility.

Lemon Grove School Fees

Year Round

This option allows you to pay equal amounts each month for 12 months, from June to May. The price includes all days YMCA child care is open including all one day care, Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break, Spring Break and Summer Child Care.
